As the Founder & Managing Partner of Bristol-based Digital DNA, David helps entrepreneurs and senior leaders to innovate, adapt, and thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. He's been training with us a Metabolic Movement for the past two years.
What made you first get in touch with George for personal training?
I had chronic lower back pain and had tried osteopathy with limited results. He was recommended to me by a friend who was using him to help with his back pain.
Did anything surprise you about his style of coaching?
He is incredibly knowledgeable about back and other injuries. So he is not your typical PT - pushing you to do hard things. Instead he focuses very carefully on the areas that need to be strengthened and puts together a very detailed plan.
What progress if any have you made since training with him?
My lower back pain has gone. I have a twinge every now and then but compared to before I started training with him, it is so much better. Before PT with George I would have weeks and weeks of really sore lower back that was also restricting what else I could do in terms of other activities (gardening, walking, DIY, etc). So for me it has been revolutionary.
How have you managed to fit exercise into your daily life?
I have prioritised it. George has given me stretches and core exercises to do, which I do most days as part of my routine to get ready for the day. And once a week I spend an hour with him in the gym to work on strength.
What are your exercise goals for the next 5 years?
To remain free of lower back pain but also to guard against ageing through strength conditioning. I also want to focus on my core and keep that as strong as possible.
